What can you do to help conserve our marine environment?

uShaka Sea World has put together a 'Fishy High Five'. Five simple things that you can do to help our oceans.

1. Be Choosy

a) Reduce the demand for certain species (SASSI)
b) Investigate which household products can go down the drain
c) Reduce, re-use, recycle, recharge
clean up

d) Reduce your daily energy and water consumption
e) Buy local
f) Choose sustainable curios and holiday destinations
g) Make sure that your pets are carefully selected and that you can care for them.

2. Walk a beach

a) Once you’ve seen the aquarium, go out and explore a shoreline and learn more
b) Find out what is natural and what is man-made

3. Find a Favourite

a)Choose your favourite animal at Sea World and learn more about it
b)Investigate the threats and how you can make a difference

4. Save a Life

a) Find out about the Tag and Release programme
b) When fishing, catch fish bigger than the minimum size and less than the bag limit

5. Share

a) Share with family and friends about amazing sealife and caring for them
b) Do a school project to share with your class
c) Support conservation programmes
