Seals display their underwater agility

There are two seal exhibits in the seal stadium, both housing Cape fur seals.

Although these are both open-air stadiums, they are covered and offer visitors ample protection from both rain and sun.

The main show pool holds 241 cubic metres of water and serves as the location for the sought-after pirate-themed seal pantomime.

Of the 13 seals at uShaka Sea World, nine are involved in the daily shows, while the four younger seals spend most of their time in the interaction pool where guests can watch them displaying their underwater swimming skills and agility.

Since the seal stadium is a lot smaller than the dolphin stadium, there are more scheduled seal shows than dolphin shows. This has been structured to accommodate the growing number of guests – both young and old – who love being entertained by the seals.

Nine permanent staff members – all of whom are specially trained in their stage roles – interact and work with the seals.
